Documents and conclusions: Technical meeting on sexual
and reproductive health policies in Africa
On the 3rd of March 2007
took place the Official Closing act of the Technical
meeting on sexual and reproductive health policies in
Africa at the Centre Cívic Pati Llimona in
Barcelona. This meeting was hosted in the framework of
the Vita Programme, and has resulted a strong impulse
in the commitment of Spanish and Catalan cooperation with
the African countries in the field of sexual and reproductive
health and rights.
In this meeting took part members of the Ministries of
Health from ten African countries, representatives of
African Union, United Nations Population Found (UNFPA),
World Health Organisation (WHO) and The Global Fund to
Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. There attended also
representatives of the Spanish and Catalan agencies for
coopeartion to development, the Ministry of Health and
Consumption of Spain, the Council of Health of Catalonia's
Government, members of Regional African Health Organisations
(WAHO and ECSA), Spanish networks and organisations of
cooperation to development, international NGOs (Pathfinder,
Family Care International, Family Health International,
Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevölkerung and Population
Action International), together with professionals, researchers
and academical experts.
